The City of Compton is excited to announce that we are partnering with the U.S. Census Bureau to support the 2020 Census. As a partner, we will be working to make sure the City of Compton is accurately represented in the upcoming decennial count.

With your help, we will establish a Complete Count Committee (CCC), which is a volunteer committee established to increase education and participation by Compton residents in the 2020 Census.

Census results are the basis for congressional representation and help determine how more than $675 billion in federal funds is distributed each year to support vital programs in states and communities across the country. These funds shape local health care, housing, education, transportation, employment, and public policy. In 2020, for the first time ever, the U.S. Census Bureau will accept responses online, but can still respond by phone or mail if preferred.

We are looking for people who are passionate about Compton, community engagement and organizing. Committee members will be ambassadors for the Census 2020 count in Compton and help to create and implement a creative outreach campaign to reach every sector of our community. We are looking for a diverse group of committee members including individuals from education, media, business, religion, philanthropy and community groups.

As a committee member, you will join a powerful network of government, nonprofit, corporate, and community organizations. Together, we can develop solutions to effectively reach everyone in Compton and encourage them to respond to the 2020 Census.
